Our live ROMWOD classes (over 30 per week) are run from our TV screens and are the ultimate guide to resolving pain, preventing injury, and optimizing athletic performance. Humans have been evolving for 2.5 million years and the human body is extraordinarily engineered. While people are born with this incredible machine, they aren’t born with the right software to run that machine. Recovery & Mobility is designed to help you hack your body’s mechanics and provide the tools to perform basic maintenance on yourself. Every human being has the right to be able to take a crack at fixing themselves.

What is ROMWOD?

ROM means ‘range of motion’, and WOD means ‘workout of the day’. In order to have a healthy lifestyle, it is important that you do some form of moderate to intense exercise. Exercising, however, comes with its own risk of injury, and in order to reduce this likelihood, it is important that you engage in recovery and mobility. This way, your body will be allowed to recover and do so faster. No matter what your fitness level is, exercise regime or intensity, there are certain after exercise steps that need to be taken with respect to exercise recovery. The process will not take any significant period of time and will require too much effort, yet most people neglect to do it.

Benefits of ROMWOD

When you allow your body to recover and mobilize after a lot of exercise, you will be aiding it in adapting to the strain of exercise. When you engage in exercise, your muscle tissues get somewhat damaged during the process. When you allow your body time to rest and recover, you give it time to repair these damaged tissue. Also, recovery also helps in replenishing your energy stores and greatly aids in your psychology recovery through rejuvenation and relaxation.

What Does ROMWOD involve?

When exercising, your joints, tendons and muscles will be under strain. ROMWOD sessions carry out advanced stretching techniques to prevent the muscles from becoming ‘knotted’ and also to help improve flexibility. Each session lasts around 20 minutes and ideally done post-workout. ROMWOD sessions can only be done at the times on the class schedule or during Open Gym.
